Ballot Return Envelope Signature
To verify that you are the person who cast your ballot, the signature on your ballot return envelope will be compared with the signature on your voter registration card. As long as the you sign the ballot return envelope with the same signature that appears on your voter registration card, your ballot will be cast.
If you have changed your signature from the one on your voter registration card, you will have to update your voter registration. If you send in your
ballot with the new signature, but have not updated your registration, the County Elections Official will send you a challenge notice. You will have
no more than 10 days after the election to prove through an updated voter registration card that the new signature belongs to you.
You may sign your return envelope in pencil. However, it is recommended that you sign the return envelope in ink to ensure the readability/quality of the signature.
Someone Else Signs Your Ballot Return Envelope
If another person signs your ballot return envelope, contact your County Elections Official for a replacement ballot or for further instructions.
