You need to update your registration information by filling out and submitting
a new registration card if:
- Your residence address has changed
- Your mailing address has changed
- Your name has changed
- Your signature has changed
- You change your political party affiliation
- You have not voted for 5 years or more
You must update your registration if you move within the county you are registered in or if you move to another county.
If you change your name, you may vote once using your old name in the county where you are registered. Following that, you must update your registration information to be eligible to vote.
“Inactive” Registration Status
Your name will not be removed from the voter registration list if you
don’t vote in an election.
If you do not vote for a period of 5 years, your registration status will
be listed as “inactive“ and you will be ineligible to vote or sign petitions
until you update your registration.
